unicorns and ephemera

I got my unicorns cd in the mail today! hooray, i like it a lot. and the packaging is neat as well. the case isn't plastic, it's made out of heavy, rough paper. the colors look like they were watercolored, and the design is generally crazy. what i like best, however, is the little envelope that held the disc itself. it's matte and black- the color of death. perfect for the unicorns, who make happy pop music that is mostly about death. and the CD is shiny, black, and has a cartoony western skull on it. AWESOME. also, i ordered the CD straight from the label- i've come to realize that the label might enclose stickers. i like stickers. so far, hush records have sent the best stuff- 2 white on clear stickers, one for the label and one for the decemberists. they also wrote a nice note on the back of one of the stickers. next, tied for second, are alien8 and barsuk. alien8 wrote a note on the invoice, and included some seriously nice info on upcoming releases. barsuk sent a barsuk sticker and one for cellar door, john vanderslice's newest release. not only is it cheaper to order from the label, but they be nice people!
