sneaky spam

you know i mentioned i've been getting a lot of spam recently? I just got two that were masquerading as emails from an address at digital-crocus, my hosting provider. i actually almost opened the .pif file- thankfully windows didn't know what to do with the octet stream, so i was safe. it actually was sneakily worded as well- it mentioned i'd been getting a lot of spam lately, and had enclosed directions on getting rid of it. i should have been suspicious for several reasons- first, it offered instructions on setting up spam protection stuff, which is already running on the digital-crocus mail server. also, it didn't have the typical wording or signature as other digital-crocus official mail. well, I certainly won't get fooled again.
